Nepal designate Ambassador on a study tour to Sikkim
Gangtok, Mar 24 (UNI) Rakesh Sood, the Indian Ambassador designate to Nepal, today called on Sikkim Governor Sudarshan Agarwal today as part of his tour of the states bordering the troubled Himalayan country.
Earlier during the day, Mr Sood interacted with the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to know about Sikkim which shares a 99 km border with Nepal on its western side.
The Sikkim-Nepal border is fully stable and there is no problem with Sikkim, said the designate Ambassador to media in a brief interaction.
Sood will be taking charge after the Nepal elections, scheduled in April. '' India and Nepal share a close relationship and I hope to make it closer,'' he said.
Mr Sood hoped that the coming elections in Nepal are conducted in a free and fair manner. '' We hope that the elections will be fair and peaceful and the people accept the results,'' he said.
