MD, Manager arrested by Lokayukta police for accepting bribe
Bangalore, Mar 24 (UNI) The Lokayukta police today arrested Managing Director and Manager of Tumkur District Supply and Marketing Co-operative society after they were caught red handed while accepting Rs 1.05 lakh as bribe from a furniture dealer.
Lokayukta release said today that the two officials K Theerthappa and Nagalakshmi had demanded Rs 1.2 lakh for releasing the payment of Rs 5.71 lakh worth furniture supplied by the dealer for different schools in the district.
The two officials settled for Rs 1.05 lakh and the dealer complained to Lokayukta. Successfully laying the trap the police arrested both the officials.
