Govt committed for seven-hour power supply to farm sector
Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Energy and Coal Minister Mohammed Ali Shabber today said the State Government was committed to supply seven hours of electricity to farm sector in the state.
Replying to a question raised by G Venkatarama Reddy (Cong) during Question Hour in the Legislative Council, he said the government had taken several measures to provide quality power supply for agricultural as well as domestic sector in the state.
The government had established 48 (132/33 KV) substations in the state in addition to 210 already established till 2004 and 615 (33/11 KV) substations as of now in addition to 2329 substations till 2004. It had established 2.33 lakh distribution transformers from 2004 till now in addition to 3.23 lakh already established till 2004, he added.
The government had taken measures for timely replacement of distribution transformers in case of failure, he said adding Andhra Pradesh stood number one in the country in providing quality power to customers.
The Minister said the state government had provided Rs 2,700 crore for the electricity sector to provide quality power to both agriculture and domestic consumers and there was no power cut in the state.
To another qeustion, he said the government had taken all meausres to provide power supply to all residential hostels and domestic consumers in view of the examinations.
