Government takes step to stop unplanned township
Kolkata, Mar 24 (UNI) The West Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) Amendment Bill, 2008, was passed in the state Assembly today to stop setting up unplanned township.
Moving the Bill in the House, state Urban Development Minister Ashok Bhattacharjee said every township should be built in a planned area with the ''planned utilisation'' of land.
'' Township means a clearly delineated planned development project within a planning area having requisite basic urban-infrastructure facilities and amenities and conforming to development parameters, '' Mr Bhattacharjee observed.
The government would only give permission for building of residential township, institutional, industrial or such other township and integrated township, he said.
