Eight people die as unseasonal rains lash Marathwada
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Mar 24 (UNI) At least eight people were killed when Lightning struck them, in different parts of Marathwada in the last two days after the region was lashed by unseasonal rains.
Most of the deceased were farmers, who were working on the fields.
Two persons each from Beed, Nanded and Parbhani districts, and one person each from Jalna and Hingoli districts were among the dead, official sources said today.
Ten people were reported to have sustained injuries when they were struck by lightning in different parts of the region. The victims included a five-year-old boy Yogesh Weerkar and a resident of Partur taluka in Jalna district.
The mango crop was also damaged due to the rains, the sources added.
