Mumbai, Mar 24 (UNI) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) executive committee member Ram Madhav today alleged that the CPI(M), in a bid to retain its hold in Kannur district of Kerala, ''had hired professional killers to eliminate RSS and Sangh Parivar cadres.
Talking to a select media group here along with K K Balaram, a senior RSS functionary from Kerala, Mr Madhav said the CPI(M) is behaving in a fascist manner in Kannur, which is the most important district for them politically.
''As many as 62 RSS and Sangh Parivar volunteers have been done to death since the series of attack started in this district in late 60s,''he added.
Even Congress and CPI workers have been the targets of the CPI(M) violence and the total number of deaths has been 150, Mr Madhav said.
The younger generation and even children of CPI(M) leaders are getting attracted to RSS and, so, the CPI (M) has stepped up the attacks to maintain the stronghold, Mr Madhav alleged.
''We demand that Central government's forces should be permanently deployed in this district,'' Mr Madhav said.
He said recently five RSS volunteers were killed. There was a peaceful protest in front of the CPI(M) office in New Delhi but stones were pelted at the protestors, Mr Madhav alleged.
