BJP condemns hounding of Taslima
New Delhi, Mar 24: Condemning the 'hounding' of Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen from India, the BJP today said that the UPA government had given in to communal and fundamentalist elements. BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that the Mrs Nasreen was first driven out of Left ruled West Bengal, and was kept under virtual house arrest in Delhi even not allowing access to doctors without giving her asylum. Mrs Nasreen had described her condition in Delhi as 'death chamber'.
He said the exiled Bangladeshi writer had stated that Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee was putting exerting 'great mental pressure' on her to leave the country. "We want to know from when Mr Mukherjee has become as an instrument of torture?", Mr Rudy asked.
