Over 100 Tibetans held in Kathmandu during protest
Kathmandu, Mar 24: On Monday, over 100 Tibetan exiles have been arrested here after they staged a demonstration in front of the United Nations office in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, protesting the Chinese suppression in Tibet earlier this month.
According to NepalNews,Tibetan refugees have been carrying out demonstrations in the Nepali capital against what they call brutal crackdown on pro-independence protesters in Tibet by the Chinese government. National and international human rights groups have criticised the police action on the demonstration of Tibetan refugees. About a dozen protesting refugees were injured during a scuffle with the police. The Nepal government has repeatedly said it would not allow any activities against China in Nepali soil.
