Nomination papers of Pak prime ministerial candidates Gilani, Elahi accepted

Islamabad, Mar 23 : The nomination papers submitted by Pakistan People's Party (PPP) prime ministerial candidate Yousuf Raza Gilani and opposition candidate Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was accepted on Sunday.

According to sources, Gilani and Elahi submitted their papers at the National Assembly secretariat; the nomination papers were held okay after due scrutiny.

On Monday, the parliament will hold election for the next prime minister of Pakistan.

Gilani is likely to win the election in the NA, as the PPP and its alliance partners the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Awami National Party have enough numbers in the lower house of the parliament.
