Kathmandu, Mar 23: Senior leader of the CPN-Maoist Baburam Bhattarai has blamed the royalist forces within the Nepal Army for the murder of Maoist cadres in Rolpa recently, media reports said. ''They killed Maoist cadres to foil the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections after being afraid of the peoples support to the CPN-Maoist,'' the state run The Rising Nepal quoted Dr Bhattarai as saying yesterday.
Two Maoists cadres were killed in the district recently. No one has claimed the responsibility for the murder. The republican forces should win the upcoming CA election, as it is different from the past parliamentary elections, he said. However, the national and international reactionary forces have been spending hugely to defeat the CPN-Maoist in the CA elections, Dr Bhattarai added.
The election coalition amongst the communist parties could not take place because the real communists and republican forces were in shadow of the CPN-UML, he said.
Election is taking place on April 10 to write a new constitution for the first time in the Himalayan nation that would also decide the future of monarchy which has ruled over 240 years.
