Chennai, Mar 23 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today refuted actor-politician Sarath Kumar's allegation that no dams or reservoirs were constructed in the state after Kamaraj rule.
In a statement here, Mr Karunanidhi said ''several dams including Sitharu 1 and 2, Poigaiaru, Nambiaru, Kodumudi Aru, Vadaku Pachaiaru, Sastha Koil dam, Majalarau dam, Manmuithaaru, Peruvari dam, Andiappanur dam, Miruganda dam and Valli Madurai dam were constructed during the various DMK regimes after Kamaraj rule in the state.'' On LDMK chief Vijaya T Rajendher's comments that the milk price hike was unfair, Mr Karunanidhi said, ''compared to the milk price in other states, it is low in Tamil Nadu.'' Mr Karunanidhi said the visit of the Leader of the Opposition L K Advani to AICC President Sonia Gandhi's house to greet her on the occasion of Holi, was a positive sign. Such political culture should be imbibed by politicians across the country, including those in Tamil Nadu.
