Collection of Road Tax begins Mar 26 in TN

Chennai, Mar 23: The collection of annual tax for non-transport vehicles such as cars, jeeps and motorcycles for the year 2007-2008 begins from March 26 to April 10, 2008 Non-transport vehicles that have completed 15 years from the date of registration have to pay Green Tax.

This can be paid along with the Motor Vehicles Tax, an official release here today said.

Similarly, two-wheeler owners currently paying the Annual Tax have the option of paying the Annual Tax or the Lifetime Tax, depending upon their age.

This facility was available at the counters functioning at the Regional Transport Offices and unit offices only.

Tax payers should produce the vehicle registration, insurance and pollution check certificates at the time of payment of tax at the designated centres.
