Chowrasia impresses in 3rd round as weather plays spoilsport

By Staff

Doral, Florida, Mar 23 (UNI) Indian pro SSP Chowrasia overcame his disappointing run and was three-under through 13 holes while Jeev Milkha Singh was left stranded as weather ended the day's play early in the WGC-CA Championship here today.

Chowrasia, who had an inconsistent second round yesterday, had a much improved third round and looked determined to make a mark today.

The Kolkata lad carded five birdies against two bogeys before he was forced to return with three more holes to go.

Jeev, who was tied fourth at six under 138 overnight, was one-under through 11 holes when lightening struck and was left stranded along with other golfers.

He birdied the first and fifth but bogeyed the eighth on a day in which only 18 of the 79 players could complete their round.

Indian-born Swede Daniel Chopra, moved up the leaderboard as he carded three-under 69 and he produced his best game of the week.

Chopra was looking good when he shot two eagles and three birdies but his good run was halted as he hit bogey on the 11th and a triple bogey on the par-five 12th.

Tiger Woods was three shots behind leader Geoff Ogilvy after both had played 11 holes while the latter is being closely followed by Adam Scott who will continue with his remaining seven holes tomorrow.
