19 officials suspended in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 23: The Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered suspension of 19 officials of different departments for remaining absent during duty hours.

Official sources said Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bandipora, in north Kashmir received a complaint that some employees of different departments were not attending duties regularly in the district.

They said the DC, accompanied by other senior officers, conducted a surprise inspection at different government departments, including Irrigation, Education and Block Development Offices in Sumbal and Sonwari. During the inspection, 19 officials, including two Gazetted Officers were found absent. The DC immediately ordered their suspension from service.

More than 100 officials of different government departments, including doctors, were suspended in the Kashmir valley for their absence from duty during the past six months.
