10,700 Income Generating units set up in North Kashmir
Srinagar, Mar 23 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has provided Rs 166.15 crore to unemployed youths for setting up 10,701 Income Generating (IG) units in north Kashmir district of Baramulla up to December last year, official sources said.
The amount was provided for establishing the IG units under priority sector, he said, adding this information was given during a review meeting of bankers and officers of various functionaries held under Lead Bank Scheme at Baramulla.
He said under PMRY, 175 ventures were set up with financial assistance of Rs 2.72 crore, involving a subsidy of Rs 45 lakh.
Similarly, 137 units have been established under Self Employment Scheme with financial support of Rs 2.31 crore, involving Rs 34 lakh as subsidy.
Under KVIB, Rs 2.40 crore have been provided to 145 unit holders for setting up of their ventures. For this purpose, Rs 42 lakh were provided as subsidy.
