TN CM, leaders extend Easter greetings
Chennai, Mar 22 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and leaders of various political parties today greeted the Christians on the eve of Easter, the festival celebrated to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Mr Karunanidhi in his message, offered his hearty wishes to the Christians, when they celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who had, through his preachings, spread love and humaneness in the entire world.
Christian community is considered as a service community as Jesus Christ always desired that his followers love and serve the mankind.
Quoting ''The Bible'', the Chief Minister said ''Do not withold good from them, who deserve it, when it is your power to act. Do not say to your neighbour come back later I will give it tomorrow, when you now have it with you''.
Mr Karunanidhi also quoted Jesus Christ having said ''Love each other as I love you. Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for his friend''.
AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa in her message, wished communal and social harmony and a new light in the lives of the people on the occasion of Easter.
Ms Jayalalithaa wished a Happy Easter to all the Christians in the world.
