Chennai, Mar 22: The officials of Narcotics Control Bureau have arrested three persons, including a Sri Lankan, and seized 590 gms of heroin worth Rs 60 lakh in the illicit international market.
A release from Narcotics Control Bureau here today said the officers, on a tip off, intercepted a car on March 20 and seized the heroin, worth concealed in a rexin bag.
Two persons--Jeyabashkharan(53), an Indian of Sri Lankan origin and Ramesh (42) of Kerala, were apprehended in connection with this incident.
Based on an information given by the duo, the officials raided a lodge at Mannadi and apprehended Mohammed Mahroof alias Raja (52), a Sri Lankan.
Some incriminating documents were recovered from his room.
Later, the three were arrested and remanded to judicial custody, the release added.
