Jammu, Mar 21 (UNI) Depicting 'unity in diversity', thousands of people from different religions, caste and creed, today celebrated Holi, Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi and Good Friday here in the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
As the day witnessed a blend of festivals, people from all religions wished each other while the festivals were celebrated with fervour and gaiety in the entire Jammu region.
Temples, mosques and churches as well, were decorated amid tight security in the town for the peaceful celebration of the occasions.
Colorful Holi festival was celebrated by people of all age groups in the city as they splashed coloured water and applied colours to friends and relatives.
Christians visited churches and offered prayers to observe 'Good Friday' while Muslims also offered 'namaz' to mark Eid celebrations.
Adequate security arrangements were made at various places for the smooth celebration of the festivals as Winter Capital today illustrated a picture of 'communal harmony' in the State.
