"The deceased's condition was bad for the last 10 days and he was under treatment for a stomach problem and loose motions. His death was natural so there should not be any issue on that," the Daily Times quoted Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jail Mohammad Yamin Khan, as saying. "The deceased's body was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi. We have informed the Interior Ministry that we will take the body to Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth. Now it is their responsibility to talk with the Indian government about handing over the body to the deceased's family. I think it will take about four to five days," he added.
Police surgeon Bashir Sheikh said that he, along with Professor Farhat Murad and Doctor Qarar Abbasi, performed the post mortem of the deceased in Karachi Civil Hospital. According to the reports, the deceased's body did not have any signs of physical torture. Samples of his body tissues and others organs have been sent for tests and result is expected to be declared in 15 days.
