Bangalore, Mar 21 (UNI) Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) today declared Indian Test team Vice Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and ace spinner Harbhajan Singh as fit for the test series against visiting South Africa with the first match beginning in Chennai from March 26.

Earlier, Dhoni and Harbhajan underwent Fitness Test at National Cricket Academy (NCA) here.

BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah, while announcing the squad for Test series against South Africa, had made it clear that the two players had to undergo a physical test to prove their fitness. He had even named Dinesh Kartik and Piyush Chawala as the standby if these two cricketers failed to pass the test.

While Dhoni, who arrived at the NCA in the morning left the venue within an hour, Harbhajan was seen undergoing various physical tests both on the KSCA stadium as well as within NCA under close watch of academy physical trainer Paul Chapman. He was seen doing workout, running and other exercises on the field.

Harbhajan had said in Jalandhar yesterday that he was 'absolutely fit' and was to undergo any fitness test before upcoming test series.

Medium pacer V R V Singh also underwent Fitness Test today.
