DA hike for Uttarakhand govt employees
Dehra Dun, Mar 21 (UNI) As a Holi bonanza, the Uttarakhand government has decided to raise the dearness allowance (DA) for government employees and pensioners by six per cent.
Talking to newspersons here today, Chief Minister B C Khanduri announced that the hike would be effective from January this year.
Value Added Tax (VAT) on gramflour would be reduced from four per cent to one per cent.
This would put a burden of Rs 90 crore on the state coffers.
At least 60,000 employees and pensioners would benefit from the raise in the DA.
