TEA thanks Govt for declaring Tirupur as new district
Tirupur, Mar 20 (UNI) The Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) thanked the Tamil Nadu Government for its announcement on formation of a new district Tirupur as headquarters during the Budget today.
In a release, TEA President A Sakthivel said the state Government has fulfilled the Association's long pending request for formation of a new district with Tirupur as headquarters. This will certainly boost the progress of the region, especially the garment sector.
He also welcomed the inclusion of Tirupur under the Tamil Nadu Urban Roads Development Project, and said this would help to upgrade the roads in Tirupur.
Lauding the Government's proposal for implementation of e-district programme in five District Collectorates including Coimbatore, he urged the Government to extend the programme by introducing it in Tirupur district collectorate also.
Welcoming the reduction of tax on generators used for producing electricity, he hoped the Government's efforts to implement several power generating projects would ensure regular supply of power in the coming years.
