Rural development camps to create awareness about welfare schemes
Patna, Mar 20 (UNI) The Bihar Government today instructed Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to ensure that ''rural development camps'' be organised at panchayat level under their jurisdictions on regular basis.
The focus of the camps should be on the spot disposal of minor disputes and creating awareness about the benefits of various welfare schemes, being implemented in the area.
In his missive to all the concerned officers, Chief Secretary R J M Pillai directed them to organise rural development camps on Wedenesday in each panchayat on rotational basis.
'' Normally 11 to 30 panchayats exist in each block and if the camps are organised on a rotational way, it would be held two to four times in each panchayat in a year, '' Mr Pillai maintained and said attempts should be made to redress the grievances of the people on the spot itself in such camps.
'' Creating awareness about the benefits of government welfare schemes is another important mission of the rural camps, and government officers should inform the villagers on how to take advantage of such schemes without facing much difficulties, '' Mr Pillai stated.
