Shimla, Mar 20 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh was poised to emerge as the first state in the country where all police stations would be inter-connected and latest modern facilities like computer and internet services provided under Community Integrated Police Application (CIPA).
Addressing a high level review meeting of the State Police Department at PTC Daroh in Kangra district, he said that the department would be modernized in order to make it more efficient so that best services could be delivered to the people.
He said Himachal Pradesh had already achieved the distinction of best police State in the country which was transforming and modernizing all its activities. All the police stations were being interlinked and facilitated with modern IT system to speed up and to bring efficiency in the functioning of police, he added.
He said that all the police stations would obtain ISO certification by the end of 5 years Policing Plan ending in year 2012. With the ISO certification, the police stations would match the international policing standards, he added.
He said that initially police stations of Dhalli in Shimla, Mandi and Una were likely to get ISO certificate in coming few months and efforts would be continued to get the same for rest of the police stations in a phased manner and achieve the target by year 2012.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government was committed to provide its police, best working condition alongwith required facilities. He said that Police Housing Scheme would also be taken up with the Finance Commission and the executing authorities would be directed to implement the schemes effectively.
