Pak Speaker orders restoration of live TV coverage of Parliament proceedings
Islamabad, Mar 20 : Pakistan National Assembly Speaker Dr. Fehmida Mirza directed the Parliament staff to restore live coverage of assembly proceedings.
The order came as journalists walked out of parliament after police cut off the cables of private television channels and misbehaved with cameramen and technical staff.
According to the Daily Times, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Information Secretary Sherry Rehman, PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) parliamentary leader Farooq Sattar condemned the misbehaviour of law enforcement personnel.
Khawaja Asif said state-run PTV's monopoly end forthwith.
