New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) The Orissa Government today requested the Rural Development Ministry to allocate additional funds of Rs.200 crore for the speedy implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA).
The demand was put up a meeting held between Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Orissa Chief Minister Navin Patnaik here.
Dr Singh assured the Chief Minister of all possible help for the different rural schemes under implementation in the state.
The issue of BPL Survey list also came up in the meeting as the Orissa Chief Minister vouched for the continuation of work on the 1997 BPL list as the 2002 BPL survey list was not finalized in the State. However, the Rural Development Minister stressed that work on the basis of 2002 list had to be done according to the Planning Commission requirements.
