MTNL launches Video Phone calling service
New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) Expanding the services offered under its broadband services, state-owned MTNL today launched its Video Phone calling services, 'V Spyk' here.
''The video calling facility will be available to our broadband subscribers. They will have to pay just Rs 9,999 as lifetime rental for the services, which is one of the lowest by global standards,'' MTNL Executive Director (Operations) A K Arora told reporters here.
If someone wants to disconnect the services, Rs 999 per quarter will be charged on pro-rata basis, he added.
The service has been launched in collaboration with Aksh Optifibre Ltd.
The product will be available in Delhi and Mumbai to all MTNL subscribers who have a broadband connection. The calls can be made only to other MTNL subscribers who also avail the same feature, Mr Arora said.
The service also offers ISD calls at Re 1 per minute to 100 countries, which will shortly be increased to 150.
The tariff will be Rs 500 monthly with 500 minutes of free video calling after which Re 1 will be charged per minute.
MTNL has about 2.3 lakh broadband subscribers.
