Chennai, Mar 20: SAP India today announced continued customer momentum in the Indian Small and Midsize Enterprise (SME) market, with more than 1,500 customers signing SAP in the past 12 months.
The company had achieved a customer base of 2,300 in the SME space, getting a strong foothold in the SME market in India, according to a release here. Companies of all sizes and from diverse industries have selected SAP to foster new business efficiencies and derive increased operational value from their IT investments, it said. Indian SMEs were witnessing a sea change in technology adoption and were setting an example on how companies from the emerging economies were utilising innovative technologies.
As with companies of all sizes, SMEs in India were seeking ways to increase efficiency through automation of processes, standardising procedures and creating a single integrated platform.
In short, companies were looking for solutions that were simple, easy to deploy and could be customised.
More and more SAP customers have identified that implementation of SAP solutions was the foundation for projects that target tangible benefits in the areas of lower total cost of ownership, increased productivity and reduced costs, the release added.
