Lucknow, Mar 20: Special Task Force (STF) held four members of a gang from Gorakhpur involved in smuggling of psychotropic substances and seized 2.5 kg of heroin estimated at over Rs two crore in international market.
On a tip-off, STF cordoned off Wahi park in Gorakhpur cantonment area and nailed the accused yesterday along with the consignment, police said.
The accused were identified as Mohammad Alam, Mahesh, Iqbal and Randhir. Among them, three hail from Uttar Pradesh, whereas one is from Bihar.
Interrogation is on to nail other members of the gang.
Earlier, on December 28, 2007, STF had seized about 4 kg heroin from Gorakhpur's Tiwaripur area.
