Canara Bank to set up ATMs at Railway stations

Mangalore, Mar 20: The first ever Railway Ticket Reservation and ATM counter was inaugurated at City Railway station here by Deputy Commissioner M Mahashwar Rao.

A press release by the bank said here today it had entered into an agreement with the Indian Railways to set up ATMs at 225 railway stations across the country.

These ATMs would also have the railway reservation kiosks for reserving the railway tickets, it said.

Through this facility of bank's ATM and e-ticket vending kiosk, the passengers using Canara Bank's ATM credit and debit card can book a maximum of six tickets and in a month a passenger can purchase a maximum of 10 tickets, it said.

With the understanding reached between the Indian Railways and Canara Bank, the bank would issue e-tickets to the passengers through internet facility, it said.

The release said that the customer/passenger could also pay the amount for the tickets by using City Bank, ICICI, HDFC and American Express credit cards.

The reserved tickets would be available soon after remitting the amount through credit cards., it said.

Those who have reserved their tickets through this facility should carry with them proofs such as passport, driving license, PAN card or voter ID card, it added.
