Raipur, Mar 19 (UNI) Pakistan's move to execute the death sentence of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian national imprisoned in that country, figured in the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha when a Congress legislator demanded that the assembly should pass a resolution urging the centre to intervene to save his life.
''The centre must make all efforts to save the life of an innocent man. I appeal to this house to adopt a resolution urging the centre to make efforts to save Sarabjit Singh from the gallows'', Congress member Dharamjit Singh said.
Raising the issue during zero hour, he said the entire country was worried over execution of death sentence of Sarabjit Singh. ''I think the chief minister must move a resolution in this house over this issue'', he added.
Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey said the entire house was equally concerned over the Sarabjit Singh issue. ''It's a matter to be taken up by the centre. The centre as well as the people of the state want to save his life'', he added.
