Karachi, Mar 19 : The Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) plans to make a policy this week to govern players wanting to join the Indian Premier League.
"The governing body is working to make clear guidelines which would give a clear idea of the schedule for the players of Indian Premier League (IPL). We believe players should give first preference to national commitments," The News quoted PCB Chief Operating Officer Shafqat Naghmi, as saying.
A dozen players, including Pakistan captain, Shoaib Malik and fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar have signed up to play in the lucrative IPL.
While adopting a liberal policy towards the IPL, which is bankrolled by the Indian Cricket Board, the PCB has banned players who have signed up for the ICL.
