Srinagar, Mar 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today inaugurated the first phase of the 200-bed Sub-District Hospital at Sopore, making available latest healthcare facilities to people in north Kashmir.

The Rs 56.90 crore hospital project is to be completed in two phases which would have Out Patient Department (OPD), Emergency, Indoor Patient Department (IPD) and other blocks.

The first phase, inaugurated today, comprises of the OPD block with two operation theatres and 42 in patient beds.

The second phase of the hospital is scheduled to be completed in August this year.

Meanwhile, the old building of the sub-district hospital here had been renovated and converted into 60-bed maternity and child care hospital.

An amount of Rs 42 lakhs was spent on the renovation.
