Chandigarh, Mar 19 (UNI) A criminal case has been filed against MDLR Airlines owner Gopal Goyal in a land grab case in Sirsa district of Haryana.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala told the assembly that an FIR had been lodged against Gopal Goyal for forcibly capturing a piece of land of the Power Department in Sirsa.

The land was acquired by Gopal Goyal with the help of 150 ''goondas'' on December 4, 2004, he added.

Mr Surjewala gave this information while responding to a question by Karan Singh Dalal (Cong) during the Question hour.

Another FIR had been filed against the MDLR owner in Gurgaon Civil Lines Police Station by the Income Tax Department on February two last, he said in a written reply.

The case was under investigation, he said.

The opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) staged a walkout from the House in protest against harsh criticism of the MDLR owner by Mr Dalal who dubbed the accused as ''Dawood Ibrahim.'' The INLD staged a walkout from the assembly again during the dicussion on the budget, when BJP MLA Ram Kumar Gautam lashed out at INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala for allegedly ''looting'' the state during his tenure as the Chief Minister.

The INLD members raised a hue and cry over the issue. Balwant Sadhaura (INLD), who started shouting in a loud voice, was 'named' by the Speaker. In protest, his fellow members staged a walkout from the House.
