Delhi gets Annual Plan allocation of Rs 10,000 cr
New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) The Annual Plan outlay for Delhi for the financial year 2008-09 has been finalised at Rs 10,000 crore.
The Plan size was decided during a meeting between Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, at Planning Commission office here.
Besides, the Chief Minister, others who attended the meeting included Delhi Finance Minister, the Chief Secretary, state planning board officials and other senior officers of the state.
Delhi Government sources said the Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission said the State had impressive achievements both in social sector and economy. He was very pleased with the work done by the Government with regard to sewerage, road transport, Yamuna cleaning, sources said. He also endorsed the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) project, terming it innovative.
Dr Ahluwalia also appreciated the Government's efforts to protect Delhi's green cover and offered to provide guidance on private-public partnership projects that could be carried out in health and education sectors. The Government had proposed 44 heads for PPP projects, sources said.
