Panchkula, Mar 18 (UNI) A spirited display of spin bowling by Akhilesh Yadav (4 for 14) helped Mumbai Champs restrict Ahmedabad Rockets to a modest total of 131 for 9 in the tenth match of the Edelweiss ICL 20s here today.

Yadav led the Champs fight back after Rockets' openers Wavell Hinds and Sachin Dholpure were associated in a 61-run stand for the first wicket.

After skipper Damien Martyn won the toss, Ahmedabad Rockets were given a fine start by openers Wavell Hinds and Sachin Dholpure.

Both openers played Champs' opening bowlers JJ Van Der Wath and Tino Best with ease as they scored runs easily in the first few overs.

Hinds started the fireworks in the first over itself hitting Van Der Wath for two consecutive fours in the first over of the Rockets' innings and then carried the onslaught into the next over hitting Tino Best for two consecutive boundaries.

Dholpure too came into his stride as he smashes two boundaries in the fifth over bowled by Van Der Wath thereby taking the Rockets score to 31 for 0 in five overs.

Khirid struck the second blow for Rockets as he removed Murray Goodwin (6) who fell to a dubious lbw decision by umpire Brandon in the next over.
