Siemens to set up molecular imaging biomaker in TN capital
Chennai, Mar 18 (UNI) Siemens Medical Solutions is setting up its first molecular imaging biomaker production facility here as part of PETNET Solutions.
The new facility would enable health care providers in and around Chennai to access the PET technology to diagnose patients with life-threatening diseases such as cancer as well as cardiac and neuro ailments, a company release said here today.
PETNET Solutions operates one of the largest PET radiopharmacy networks with over 44 radio pharmacies and distribution centres at multiple locations in the US, Korea and UK, which produce and distribute PET radiopharmaceuticals to hospitals, clinics and research facilities for PET imaging.
It would produce and supply the required radiopharmaceuticals to the hospitals having PET.CT facilities.
The new cyclotraon would gurantee reliable delivery of PET radiopharmaceutical and vastly increase availability of FDG which means many more patients in Chennai and other locations within transporting distance would have access to world-class PET.CT imaging, it added.
