National Youth Games Logo, Mascot launched

Bangalore, Mar 18 (UNI) The logo and mascot 'Chandan' of the First National Youth Games scheduled to be held in Karnataka from May 11 to 18 was today launched by Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today launched.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Thakur said that about 6000 sportspersons from all parts of the country would be vying for top honours in 24 disciplines held in 17 different venues during day light and flood light. The events would be held in the city and Mysore, he said.

Mr Thakur said that the National Youth Games is also a forum to prepare teams to represent the country in the various international competitions and events in the near future, including Beijing Olympics.
