Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) had sanctioned 26 road and 24 bridge projects, involving loan assistance of Rs 51.85 crore, to the state government.
These projects were sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) by the Project Sanctioning Committee in a meeting held at New Delhi yesterday, a press release here said.
The present sanctioned projects would be implemented by Tribal Welfare Engineering department (24 roads), Panchayat Raj Engineering Department and Roads and Buildings Department in 17 districts. The aggregate length of these roads is 96.50 km and that of bridges is 4188.14 metres.
Around 11.66 lakh population in 336 villages would be benefitted by these roads and bridges and have access to nearly 106 marketing centres. The above projects were estimated to provide nearly 15.60 lakh mandays of non-recurring employment in rural areas of the state.
