Bhopal, Mar 18: Madhya Pradesh Urban Administration and Development Minister Narottam Mishra today announced in the Assembly that a decision has been taken to suspend an official of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation over a matter related to alleged financial irregularities.
Replying to supplementary questions by Arif Aqueel (Cong) during the Question Hour, Mr Mishra said an amount of Rs 2 lakh has to be recovered in this matter. After investigation, responsibility of officials would be fixed and amount recovered.
He said it had been decided to suspend incharge officer Shaheer Ahmad in a cheque loss case. A cheque had been issued to the Gas Claim Authority by the BMC towards water supply and other works in gas-affected area.
Regarding irregularities in road construction work in Seoni municipality, Mr Mishra announced that an inquiry would be conducted within a month by sending an officer from the state capital.
Complaints related Shivpuri municipality would be investigated soon.
Public Works Department Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya told Mr Premchand Guddu (Cong) that inquiry into alleged irregularities in construction of 'Tal Alot' and 'Alot Barod' roads in Ujjain division would be carried out within 15 days by sending a chief engineer from Bhopal.
He said the matter had been probed earlier but he was not satisfied. Hence, the matter would be investigated again. Strict action would be taken against guilty contractor and officers.
