Chennai, Mar 18 (UNI) The India Cements Ltd, the franchise of the Chennai team ''Chennai Super Kings,'' in the Indian Premier League (IPL) which will begin with the T20 league on April 23, today announced Kollywood stars Vijay and Nayantara as their Ambassadors.
Executive President India Cements T S Raghupathy, brand ambassador former India captain K Srikkanth and ''Chennai Super Kings'' coordinator and former Indian cricketer and selector V B Chandrasekhar said Vijay was an apt choice to boost up the team as well as kick up the support of youth for the local team during the league competitions.
''I am a lover of cricket, thanks to my son, and I feel honoured to have been chosen as the Star Ambassador for Chennai,'' Vijay, who attended the press conference taking time off his busy schooting schedule, told the mediapersons. However, Nayantara could not be present as she was away from the city.
Vijay said he would definitely be attending the league opener at the M A Chidambaram stadium here on April 23. ''I will also try my best to be present and boost up the team during the remaining matches also,'' the charismatic actor, son of veteran Director S A Chandrasekhar said.
