Gharial Mortality rate sinks in MP
Bhopal, Mar 18 (UNI) In a letter written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the World Conservation Union has lauded the efforts of Madhya Pradesh for Gharial Mortality Disaster Management and assured to provide cooperation.
Official sources said there was a decline in mortality rate in the National Chambal (Gharial) Wildlife Sanctuary and no reptile death was reported this month.
The Central World Conservation Union (Gharial Expert Group) President Graham Web wrote the letter to the Prime Minister who holds charge of the Environment and Forests Ministry and said that necessary cooperation at the international level to curb the gharial mortality rate was made available due to the initiatives of state government.
