By Staff

Bangalore, Mar 18 (UNI) Former India Captain Rahul Dravid today paid rich tributes to Veteran South Africa Cricketer and Former Pakistan Coach Bob Woolmer on his first death anniversary today.

In a chat with newsmen during his visit to a Reliance outlet, he said, ''Bob was a great cricketer and whoever stood up for promotion of cricket will remember him forever''.

An international cricketer, coach and commentator by profession Robert Andrew Woolmer died suddenly in Jamaica on March 18, 2007, just a few hours after the Pakistan team's elimination after losing to minnows Ireland in the last World Cup.

Shortly afterwards, Jamaican Police announced they were opening a murder investigation into Woolmer's death.

However, three months later they announced that Woolmer had died of natural causes.

Replying to a question, Dravid said he was looking forward to the three-test series against South Africa with the first match beginning in Chennai on March 26.

About his experience of shooting for an advertisement for BCCI- sponsored Indian Premier League (IPL) beginning on April 18, Dravid said though it was the same as appearing in any other advertisement, shooting for IPL was a new experience as he did it with his Karnataka team mates.
