CTA's urgent appeal to stop repression against Tibetans
Dehra Dun, Mar 18 (UNI) The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has appealed to the international community to urge the Chinese leadership to stop the repression against Tibetans and release those detained.
In a statement issued by the Kashag, the apex executive body of the CTA here today, the United Nations, UN Human Rights Council, governments, parliaments, Human Rights groups and Tibet Support groups have been urged to persuade the People's Republic of China to refrain from further repressive measures against Tibetans and restore normalcy through peaceful means.
It has also proposed that the United Nations Human Rights Council depart a fact-finding delegation to the affected areas.
The Chinese government's ultimatum to Tibetans to end their demonstrations is set to expire this midnight.
