Cop's revolver 'goes off' at AP CM office
Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) A Sub-Inspector's revolver accidentally went off at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's office in C Block of the Secretariat here today.
City Police Commissioner B Prasad Rao, who rushed to the spot immediately after the incident, told newspersons that Udaya Kiran, sub Inspector of Muthol in Adilabad district, had come to the Secretariat to meet some officials at the General Administration Department(GAD), located in the same building, along with CID inspector Naresh Reddy.
The incident occurred before he deposited his 9mm service revolver with the security. However, nobody was injured as the revolver pointed towards the surface when it went off.
Mr Rao said a case had been registered against Mr Kiran. This would be referred to the Adilabad Superintendent of Police (SP) and regional DIG for further investigation.
Mr Kiran was being questioned by the Secretariat Security Officers and the city police officials.
