Bihar Assembly witnesses ruckus over Anganwadi issue
Patna, Mar 18 (UNI) The Bihar Assembly today witnessed uproarious scenes over alleged irregularities in Anganwadi all over the state.
To a starred question of RJD member Rajesh Singh in the House, state Welfare Minister Rameshwar Paswan ruled out any irregularity in an Anganwadi centre at Dhanha and said the centre was functioning properly.
Dissatisfied with the Minister's statement, the RJD-led Opposition members got agitated, alleging largescale irrgularities in Anganwadi centres all over the state, and demanded a probe by the Committee of the House.
Considering the demands of the Opposition, the Minister agreed to the probe, stating that the matter could be inquired by the existing Committee of the House.
The Speaker, Udai Narayan Choudhry, asked the government to seek suggestions from the members of the House.
Intervening into the situation, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, however, said largescale improvement had been made in the Anganwadi centres.
To this the Opposition became agitated resulting in a heated exchanges between the members of the Treasury bench and the Opposition.
Later, Mr Choudhry suggested for a special debate on the issue.
