Hyderabad, Mar 17 (UNI) The Telugu Desam Party, Communist party of India (Marxist) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a walkout in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly in protest against the government's refusal to agree for a House Committee probe into alleged irregularities in the implementation of INDIRAMMA Programme.

Dissatisifed with Municipal Administration Minister Koneru Ranga Rao's reply that the government had acted against the employees concerned and had taken steps to prevent misuse, TDP Legislature Party Secretary E Dayakara Rao alleged enrollment of bogus beneficiaries while granting over 46 lakh pensions in the State under the housing programme, before leading his party members out of the House.

Citing instances of irregularities, the TDP Legislator claimed a 70-year-old man had not got pension but his 40-year-old son was sanctioned one as he belonged to the ruling Congress.

CPI(M) Legislator M A Gafoor alleged manipulations had occurred in several municipalities in the state and demanded an all-party committee for selection of beneficiaries and making available the list of beneficiries on the internet, before leading his party members out of the House.

BJP Floor Leader G Kishen Reddy also walked out from the House for the government not sanctioning pensions for eligible people in the Hyderabad City.

Earlier, the Minister admitted that Rs 39 lakh was misappropriated in Warangal District by misusing pensions while Rs 56,000 was misappropirted in Parvathipuram.

Action has been taken against three employees concerned. Sum of Rs 2,90,500 has been recovered from a pension clerk in this regard.
