Krishna receives rousing reception on his arrival
Bangalore, Mar 17: Former Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna, drafted for party work during the Karnataka Assembly elections by the party high command, was today accorded a tumultous welcome on his arrival at the HAL airport by his supporters here today.
Large number of party workers, supporters and leaders including former Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh, Opposition leader in the Karantaka Legislative Council H K Patil, former ministers D K Shivakumar, R V Deshapande, A Krishnappa and Dr G Parameshwar were present airport. In a brief chat with newsmen upon arrival, Mr Krishna said he was happy to return to the state and thanked the party high command for drafting him for party work in the state.
State Congress Chief Mallikarjuna Kharge, former Deputy Chief Minister Sidharamaiah and the new entrant to the party M P Prakash were conspicuous by their absence.
