CBI files investigation report in SNC Lavalin case
Kochi, Mar 17 (UNI) The CBI today filed in the Kerala High Court an interim investigation report in the SNC Lavalin case on alleged irregularities in the contract to a Canadian company to revamp three power plants in the state.
The report was filed by Mr V Ashok Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI, in a sealed cover before the registrar.
A division bench, comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justice K M Joseph, will consider the report tomorrow.
The bench had on February 22 directed the CBI to file an interim report before March 18.
The CBI was told to submit the report while the court was hearing a petition contending that the agency was not investigating the case properly.
The case pertains to an alleged loss of around Rs 400 crore to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) in the contract given to SNC Lavalin during the previous tenure of the LDF Government, when party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan was the Power Minister.
