Tamil Nadu: BHC to hand over library stock to Kerala
Chennai, Mar 17: Following the closure of the British Library in Thiruvananthapuram, the British Deputy High Commission here today clarified under an agreement reached on February 1, it would hand over the stocks of the library to the Kerala government. The stock includes books, DVDs, journals and magazines, a statement said.
However, furniture, computers, other equipment and systems would not be handed over. The High Commission was finalising the Memorandum of Understanding with the Kerala government to reflect this agreement.
To ensure the High Commission honoured the agreement with the YMCA to vacate the premises, it planned to transfer the stock and furniture to a temporary storage facility, pending handover to the Kerala government as soon as possible.
